Mahira Khan is a popular Pakistani actress known especially for her role in Humsafar as Khirad Ehsan. She has played many characters in several films and serials from romantic dramas to contemporary social.
Mahira Khan has got one Lux Style Award, Pakistan Media Award and two Hum Awards that speak of her talent and versatility, making her a high-profile celebrity of current time. She earned Lux Style Award for best film actress nomination, because her performance in the film gave birth to critical appreciation.
She was judged as the Most Beautiful Woman in Pakistan in 2012.
Mahira has performed in several Television serisals like Neeyat that was on air in 2011, Humsafar that was shown in 2012, Shehr-e-Zaat also in 2012 and Sadqay Tumharay in 2014 that is still on air at Hum TV.
She first appeared in drama serial Neeyat and then in Humsafar as a middle-class girls who marries her rich cousin and that’s the beginning of new rivalry by girl friend of her husband. In Humsafar her chemistry with co-star Fawad Khan was noted. He says that she is choosy with her work and reviews script deeply before making decision to accept it, whether it’s a local project or out of country. Because Mahira Khan prefers spending time with her son.
Mahira Khan, born in Karachi did her matriculation from Foundation Public School then she went to US for higher education. She studied at University of Southern California. In 2008, she came back to Pakistan.
Beginning of Career
Mahira began her career as VJ when she was only 16. She hosted live show on MTV named Most Wanted. She also hosted Weekends with Mahira on Geo Aag TV. Her first job was of a cashier at Rite Aid in Los Angeles, US. She would clean floor, toilets and close the store at night.
She fell in love at first sight when she met Ali Askari at Indus TV studios during her vacations. She married him in 2007 on July 13. Her marriage ceremony was totally traditional. Her husband is working on making first animation series of Pakistan. She has also become a sweet mom.
In 2011, she made her film debut with the Pakistani Movie BOL that was directed by Shoaib Mansoor. She played the role of Ayesha, who is a feisty tomboy.
