Different Types of Pakistani Bridal Dresses

Lehenga

Lehenga is the traditional Pakistani bridal dress liked by most of the brides. It is in three piece i.e. blouse, dupatta and lehenga. Lehnga is fitted from the hips and spreads out downwards. The diameter of the hemline depends on the choice it could be huge or small. lehenga touches the floor and gives a beautiful look to the bride. Embroidery is done all over the lehnga especially around the hemline which has a broad band of embroidery around it. Blouse is lightly embroidered while dupatta is much embroidered. This will balance the overall look of the bride. Moreover lehenga is of different types like mermaid style, straight cut lehenga, panel length lehenga, A-line lehenga and flared lehenga.

Angrakha

Talking about Pakistani bridal dresses, another Pakistani bridal dress is angrakha. Those brides who do not want to wear lehnga can go for this bridal dress. Angrakha is usually worn with churidar pajama. It is a long frock that ends below the knee but it could be vary in length. This is a wrapping style dress and the string with tassels is stitched to hang freely on the left side. As it is a bridal dress so it is greatly embellished.

Sharara

One of the most beautiful and ethnic style of Pakistani bridal wear is sharara. This dress is also in three piece the dupatta, sharara and small kurta. Kurta is fitted perfectly and embroidered with beads, laces and sequins while sharara is of two legs. Each leg has a perfect fitting from thighs and loose downwards making huge flare. Kurta is above the knees and usually have a slit in the center.

Shalwar kameez

Shalwar kameez is the national dress of Pakistan and one of the most used dress in Pakistani bridal dresses. In most of the areas brides like to wear shalwar kameez. This is a three piece dress with shalwar, kameez and dupatta. Kameez is heavily embroidered while the the part of shalwar around the ankle have a band of embroidered lace. The shalwar is fitted from the waist and has loose pleats. Dupatta is also heavily decorated because it have to be placed on head.

Churidar and long frock

Churidar pajamas are never out of fashion. It gives a sleek and elegant look to the bride. Pakistani bridal dress also includes long frocks which may be pleated or panel pleated. The frock have a huge flare and varies in length depending on the choice. Boundaries of dupatta have a band of embroidery all around.
